VetsSUP is a new organization for Veterans, their families, and their friends, who enjoy standup paddleboarding and/or veterans who are interested in taking up the SUP sport.

Diali, aka "Charlie-Mike", an Army Veteran, started the organization after many years of pain and illness/disability from her time in the Army. When asked, she explains that she was sick and tired of being sick and tired. "How many times and how many years do I have to tell my family to 'just go without me' when they go kayaking on the rivers, surfing at the beach, playing outdoor sports or even just enjoying fresh air outside"? She thought she wanted to try standup paddleboarding, but was very hesitant for some time. On a family vacation, she finally gave in and tried it which started her love for the SUP sport. Because it was able to provide her a way to find mental, physical, and emotional clarity, she really wanted to start a group that would do the same for other veterans.

The purpose of VetsSUP is to build camaraderie among veterans throughout the state of Florida while also enjoying the water standup paddleboarding, which allows veterans to be or remain physically active. The SUP sport also allows veterans to find mental and emotional healing. All events planned will be organized and executed with mostly donations by the community and/or local businesses as well as receiving help from community friends, families and other veterans who join the events for support.
